FX released a trailer for Mayans M.C. Season 4 that shows a battle between the titular club and the Sons of Anarchy.
The trailer, which you can see below, is highly-stylized and shows various members of the Mayans M.C. facing off against the Sons of Anarchy. The song playing over the footage is a version of "Heads Will Roll," by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Mayans M.C. Season 3 saw the titular club at odds with other charters. And while at the end of Season 3, the Mayans M.C. thought they'd successfully managed to kill Canche, they ended up failing in their mission. This resulted in Canche teaming up with the other charters and launching an all-out assault on the Santo Padre compound that was not resolved by the end of the finale.
FX renewed Mayans M.C. for a fourth season prior to the final two episodes of Season 3. However, FX has not provided much information on Mayans M.C. Season 4, and there's no indication of just who will survive the premiere. The loglines for the first few episodes, though, tease a war in Santo Padro and the Mayans M.C. having to navigate a major status quo change.
Created by Kurt Sutter, Sons of Anarchy aired for seven seasons between 2008 until 2014. The show followed the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club as they operated as outlaws in Charming, California. One of the biggest through lines saw club member Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) questioning his relationship to the club after finding a manifesto from his father. The show also introduced certain key characters from the Mayans M.C.
A spinoff of Sons of Anarchy, Mayans M.C. was created by Sutter and Elgin James. Mayans M.C. began airing in 2018 on FX. However, Sutter left the project in the middle of Season 2 following a conflict with Disney. The show, which takes place two years after the end of Sons of Anarchy, takes place in Santo Padre, California, and focuses on the Mayans M.C. club, with a particular focus on EZ Reyes (J.D. Pardo), who initially finds himself spying on the charter for the police.
Mayans M.C. Season 4 premieres on April 19 with two episodes, "Cleansing of the Temple" and "Hymn Among Ruins." New episodes air Tuesdays on FX.
