Genshin Impact: The 10 Best Bow Users, Ranked | CBR

The bow is one of five different weapon types that characters in Genshin Impact have the potential to wield. While this small number sounds like it might limit creativity and cause most of these characters to play the same, there's actually some super creative concepts for certain Bow-users, like Childe's hybrid range-melee style of combat or Ganyu's mostly charged-only playstyle.

When Genshin Impact first launched, there were only three bow-users in the entire game, these being Fischl, Amber, and Venti. Nowadays there's a total of ten, with Aloy, Diona, Ganyu, Gorou, Sara, Childe, and Yoimiya being added over time. It's always fun to look back and see how they rank up compared to one another, especially for players who might not have the primogems to be spending on every and any unit.

10 Aloy Has Too Much Competition And Suffers From A Lack Of Constellations

When it was first announced that Horizon Forbidden West's Aloy would be making her way to Genshin, the community reaction was quite mixed, to say the least. There were those simply happy with the fact that players were getting a five-star for free, but many felt as if she didn't fit in with the overall world.

One of the things that cemented Aloy's place as a bottom-tier bow user is the mere fact that she doesn't have any constellations. Being given a Constellation Six character for free does sound a little too strong, but they could have added her to the gacha, added constellations for her as event rewards, or something else to prevent her from always being weaker than all of her competition.

9 Amber Doesn't Provide Much Benefit To Teams Aside From Early Reactions And World Puzzles

Even back during Genshin's start where Amber didn't have a ton of competition in her weapon or element, most players passed her over. For one, since she's a free character given out at the start, it's incredibly hard to get constellations for her compared to most other four-stars.

Amber's skills also feel far too slow and even her Elemental Burst feels too easy for enemies to walk out of. One of the only real uses she gets from players is lighting Pyro torches in the early game.

8 Yoimiya Simply Doesn't Deal Enough Damage To Take Up A Main DPS Slot

Yoimiya has an absolutely adorable design and is the first Pyro Bow-user to come out since Amber. Since her four-star counterpart doesn't see a lot of love, hopes were high for Yoimiya to be a great Main DPS, but this didn't end up being the case.

It feels as if her kit is incredibly clunky, and Yoimiya simply doesn't do enough damage to warrant taking up a Pyro or Main DPS slot in one's team. Especially since she has to compete with powerhouses like Hu Tao, Eula, and Tartaglia, it makes sense why Yoimiya isn't seen much.

7 Kujou Sara Seemed Interesting In Concept But Fell Short Compared To Other Electro Supports

Kujou Sara has an incredibly unique design at first glance and was the first Electro bow-user to be released after Fischl. As time goes on, though, fans realized that she pretty much fills the same role as Bennett.

The only problem with this is that Bennett is incredibly powerful, not just as a four-star but compared to most other supports in the game. Most people end up passing over Sara in favor of just continuing to use Bennett instead.

6 Gorou Is An Amazing Support But His Use Is Limited To Geo Team Comps

Ever since Gorou's initial reveal, fans were eager to jump at the chance to add him to their teams and get to try out his kit. He didn't disappoint upon his release, either, as it turned out that Gorou made a phenomenal support.

The only thing that holds him back from ranking higher is the sole fact that, while he is an amazing support, he can really only unleash his full supportive capabilities as part of a Geo-focused team. The Geo element is severely lacking compared to most others, with many of its characters being other supports, meaning there aren't many good Main DPS units as of early 2022 for Gorou to work with.

5 Diona Is Quite Versatile, Providing Both Heals And Shields

The catgirl Diona is a Cryo bow-user as well as a support in Genshin, and she fills both of these roles quite well. Her Cryo application is pretty solid, with her Burst dropping a Cryo-over-time field that damages enemies, and there are always Charged Shots for moments of downtimes.

Meanwhile, that damaging Cryo field also heals herself and any allies who enter it during its duration, making her a great support. Adding to this, her Elemental Skill adds a shield to herself, and an early constellation lets her pass this shield on to party members in Co-Op domains as well.

4 Fischl Is A Fantastic Support For Applying Easy Electro Status

The highly-sought after Fischl is one of the three Bow-users that launched at the start of Genshin Impact. This is true both for her adorable design and the versatility of her kit.

Fischl makes for a fantastic Electro support, since both her Elemental Skill and Burst leave her trusty companion Oz on the field to deal Electro damage to enemies over time. She can even be built as a Physical DPS for those who want to use her on the field more, making her quite diverse.

3 Tartaglia's Dual Range-And-Melee Combat Is Some Of The Most Unique Gameplay In Genshin

Tartaglia's playstyle is one of the most unique in all of Genshin. Combined with this, his design is sharp and unique, he has an insane potential for damage output, and all of his different VA languages did a fantastic job making his character extra compelling.

Unlike other Bow-users, Tartaglia switches between his typical bow form and a melee, double-water-dagger form that each come with a distinct ultimate. He was one of the game's earlier releases but remains one of its most popular.

2 Venti's Usefulness For Gathering Enemies And During Exploration Can't Be Overstated

The musical Venti was the very first limited five-star to make his way to Genshin Impact, and he's still one of the most sought-after despite having had a re-run. This is for good reason, too, as he's near-uncontested in terms of Anemo support damage as well as CC as he can easily group up smaller enemies.

He's also great during exploration, as his Elemental Skill can launch him into the air when held and help him reach Oculus or areas that other characters might struggle with. To top it all off, his design is adorable and iconic even outside of the Genshin playerbase as he became quite a popular choice with cosplayers.

1 Ganyu Is The Uncontested Queen Of DPS

When it comes to Main DPS units, there's not a single character in the game that can compete with Ganyu. The community originally believed that she would play as a Support or Sub-DPS prior to her release but were quickly proven wrong.

Her damage potential using Charged Shots is so high that she doesn't even need to make use of Elemental Reactions in order to dish out a ton of damage. Her design is adorable, and even though there are a ton of other Cryo units that would technically compete with her, she's so strong that it isn't much of a choice for those who do own Ganyu.
