Shino Aburame is a shinobi in the popular series Naruto. In this series, Shino is a quiet shinobi who utilizes his clan's insect-based techniques. Shino is also a part of Team 8 alongside fellow shinobi Hinata Hyuga and Kiba Inuzuka. Although he is the quiet type, other shinobi should not underestimate him.
Shino is in fact a powerful shinobi with great potential to be the best character in the show. Besides having an interesting and unique technique, his quiet stoicism makes him stand out from many other Naruto characters.
10 Shino Has One Of The Most Unique Techniques In The Series
Since he was young, Shino has shown great potential as a shinobi and even caught the attention of Danzo, who has high standards. At birth, Shino was infused with a special breed of insects that nest inside his body and feed on his Charaka. In return, these insects do as Shino commands.
This includes making a clone of himself with the insects, caging in enemies, absorbing the Chakra of his enemies, and even consuming their flesh. Shino's insects have a variety of possibilities that make him so strong.
9 In the Chuunin Exams, Shino was Matched Against Zaku Abumi
During the Chuunin exam preliminary matches Shino was randomly chosen to go up against Zaku Abumi. However, Shino noticed that Zaku's arms were in slings and recommend that he forfeit the match. Zaku then attacks Shino with his one good arm and this gives Shino the opportunity to box Zuko in with his insects.
Leaving Zaku to decide whether he should attack Shino or his bugs, Zaku decides to attack both. But as he attacks, his arms blow up. Shino secretly filled his armholes with his insects, completely outsmarting Zaku and winning the match.
8 During The Terrorist Attack At The Chuunin Final, Shino Clashes Against Kankuro
When the audience at the Chuunin final match was put under a sleep-induced genjutsu, Shino was able to dispel it for himself and go after Kankuro. Kankuro immediately uses his puppet to attack Shino, but Shino uses his insects to eat away at the Chakra on Kankuro's puppet strings.
During the battle, Shino was able to secretly plant the scent of a female bug onto Kankuro. Thanks to this female scent on Kankuro, Shino's insects swarm him and consume his Chakra causing Kankuro to collapse.
7 Shino Is Paired Up With Ino & Naruto In The Kaima Capture Mission
In the anime, Shino, Naruto, and Ino are ordered to discover what is terrorizing the country and defeat it. During the group's raid of a laboratory, Shino engages in battle with Yoroi Akado so Ino and Naruto can continue on to in their raid.
The battle continues outside until Ino comes to help Shino defeat Yoroi. Shino is willing to take one for the team so others can advance, just like when he fought against Kankuro so Sasuke could continue on to fight Gaara.
6 Kakashi Added Team 8 To His Eight Man Squad In The Pursuit Of Itachi Uchiha
In the efforts to hunt for Itachi Uchiha, Kakashi builds an eight-man squad that includes Team 8. However, during their hunt, they encounter Tobi. Because Shino was absent during the failed mission to retrieve Sasuke Uchiha, he decides to take charge of the fight.
During the battle, Shino was able to fully encase Tobi with his insects, although Tobi was able to eventually escape. Shino's bugs were still able to tell that Tobi didn't use teleportation to escape.
5 During Pain's Assualt On The Village, Shino & His Clan Go Up Against Konan
During the chaos that Pain caused in the village during his assault, Shino meets up with his father and the rest of the clan members. Together with his father, Shino confronts the Akatsuki member Konan and uses their insects to eat away at the paper that Konan used to attack other shinobi.
Once the shinobi were freed, they were healed by the Fifth Hokage's slugs. Konan, however, was just a clone and surrounded Shino and his father with other clones that had explosive tags. Luckily, Shino and his family narrowly escaped the explosions.
4 Shino Discovered The Secret Of The White Zetsu Army In The Fourth Shinobi World War
While the Fourth Shinobi World War broke out, Shino was placed into the fifth division. When the White Zetsu Army blew out of the ground, Shino uses his Secret Technique: Insect Sphere to attack the army.
During the battles, Shino was able to discover that the White Zetsu had the power to absorb someone's Chakra and impersonate them. Thanks to Shino not having any physical contact during the fights, he was not impersonated by them.
3 Shino Has To Confront His Adopted Brother In A Fight
While in the middle of the war, Shino's insects notify him that one of his clan members is on the battlefield appearing to be another reincarnated shinobi. Once Shino finds them, it turns out to be his adopted brother Torune.
Torune lets Shino know that he is being forced into doing his forbidden technique. Shino's newest bugs are able to repel Torunes toxins and they pin him down so Shino can place a sealing tag on Torune to free him.
2 Shino Lets Sasuke Know He Cannot Easily Become The Hokage
As things are quickly reaching their climax in the war, Sasuke Uchiha suddenly shows up on the battlefield and declares he will be Hokage. This declaration has everyone completely shocked, considering Sasuke's history isn't the best.
Surprisingly, Shino confronts Sasuke saying that the crimes he has committed will not be forgotten or forgiven easily. Out of everyone there, it was a shock to see the usually quiet Shino hit Sasuke with some real truth.
1 Shino Aids Team 7 In Defeating The Ten-Tails Mini Clones
After the shinobi failed to immobilize the Ten-Tails, it sends out mini clones to attack them. Once Team 7 showed their determination to fight, Shino and Kiba joined them in the battle.
Shino uses his Parasitic Giant Insect-Bug Bite technique to wipe out several of the Ten-Tails mini clones. During the whole Shinobi World War, Shino was never afraid to battle and was always ready for combat or to aid Naruto if he needed him.
