Top 10 Shonen Anime We Wouldn't Want To Be Isekai'd To | CBR

Many anime worlds would be fascinating to be live in, even for just day. Exploring the colorful scenery, unique power systems, and meeting the characters would be a pretty cool experience. To be "isekai'd" means to be teleported from one's own world into an unfamiliar one. Two examples of isekai anime would be Sword Art Online and Inuyasha.

However, there are some shonen anime settings that would be unpleasant to live in. Supernatural entities and cruel realities define such anime. The real world certainly is harsh, but in comparison to some shonen settings, it's not all that bad.

10 Demon Slayer's Setting Is Treacherous

Demon Slayer is one of the most popular shonen anime at the moment. However, this is one world that would be treacherous to be isekai'd to. Although training to be a member of the Demon Slayer Corps sounds interesting in theory, the brutal training would not be fun — it took Tanjiro two years to train enough to pass the exam.

Additionally, it's unsettling that demons are always lurking and ready to attack as soon as night falls. Some of the demons are even too powerful for the strongest Hashira to defeat, and they either die or get severely injured in the process.

9 The Archaic World Of The Seven Deadly Sins Would Be Unpleasant To Live In

The Seven Deadly Sins takes place in the middle ages and focuses on a group of seven knights, each representing one of the biblical seven deadly sins. It takes place in a country called Britannia, a large piece of land divided by the different kingdoms. The anime has its own unique power system, giving each wielder a unique power.

Regardless, the world of The Seven Deadly Sins is one that would not be fun to be isekai'd to. Since there's a constant Holy War, it would be stressful to live in. Additionally, trying to defeat the Demon Race and, ultimately, the Demon King, would make for less-than-ideal living conditions.

8 Being Isekai'd To Dragon Ball Z Would Be Exhausting

Though Dragon Ball Z is one of the most iconic anime of all time, being isekai'd into its world wouldn't be fun. The Z Fighters are literally tasked with protecting the Earth from aliens, monsters, and other supernatural entities with immense power.

It would become a bit exhausting after a while to constantly fight the enemy. Additionally, the concept of obtaining all seven dragon balls to get any wish granted is entertaining in theory — but realistically, it would be nearly impossible given the conditions of the world.

7 Being Isekai'd To Parasyte Would Be A Health Hazard

Parasyte has a lot of interesting tones about the way humanity relates to other species and how other species relate to each other. This plot point is driven by the alien parasites that possess humans in the anime, such as Migi, who possesses Shinichi's right hand.

Though the concept and message behind the anime are interesting to think about, being isekai'd into the world would be nothing short of a health hazard. Additionally, trying to deal with the civil war amongst parasites and possibly being at risk of possession wouldn't be the best experience, either.

6 Being Isekai'd To One Of The Wards In Tokyo Ghoul Would Be Disastrous

The world of Tokyo Ghoul would be disastrous to be isekai'd to. Finding yourself in the wrong place at the right time would be a tragedy and there would always be the risk of being fresh meat for a ghoul.

Additionally, getting isekai'd to one to the wards and entering the world suddenly being a ghoul would force one to deal with the reality that they'd either have to eat humans or die of starvation. Tokyo Ghoul's reality is harsh, and not exactly ideal to suddenly be transported into.

5 Being Isekai'd To Neon Genesis Evangelion Would Be Traumatic

The world of Neon Genesis Evangelion can be hyper-surrealist in the midst of all the violence. To be suddenly isekai'd to this world would be very traumatic for the average person. Many of the events in the anime are disturbing and metaphysical, so the atmosphere would feel uncomfortable.

Being isekai'd into Neon Genesis Evangelion would have your head spinning just from how different it would be from the normal world. Although the anime is an undeniable classic, the setting is not one that people can easily thrive in, let alone survive.

4 Being Isekai'd Into Fire Force Would Mean Dealing With Spontaneous Human Combustion

The world of Fire Force brings one of the scariest ways to die into the spotlight: spontaneous human combustion. The Special Fire Force is tasked with battling the Infernals that cause the phenomenon. The world of Fire Force is not one that would be ideal to be isekai'd to.

The world is chaotic and it would be terrifying to deal with the threat of spontaneous human combusting occurring at any moment. Although working with the Special Fire Force would be fun, the risk that comes with the job is just not worth it.

3 Being Isekai'd To Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Would Be Confusing

Being isekai'd into Jojo's Bizarre Adventure would be something that is extremely hard to adjust to — regardless of whatever part you'd get isekai'd to. Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency deal with vampires and Pillar Men running loose because of the Stone Mask, while Stardust Crusaders through Stone Ocean deals with tons of Stand battles that would be hard to understand.

Getting isekai'd into Steel Ball Run would mean instantly becoming a contestant in the race, while Jojolion deals with the hunt for a magical fruit and fight against enemies such as a clan of rock humanoids. Overall, getting isekai'd to the world of Jojo's would be a harsh transition from the normal world.

2 The Promised Neverland Would Present A Cruel Reality

Of all the settings to get isekai'd to, The Promised Neverland is probably one of the cruelest ones. The anime takes place in 2045, where the solution to ending the war between humans and demons is to sell children like livestock to the demons.

Since the story mainly takes place in the demon world, it would be a harsh reality to deal with. On top of coping with the fact that children are being sold like livestock, there's also the realization that the world is overrun with vicious, feral demons. It's a dangerous environment all around.

1 Being Isekai'd To Attack On Titan Would Be Awful

The setting of Attack On Titan is defined by tragedy, bloodshed, and significant cataclysmic events. It would be unpleasant to be isekai'd to a world where the only protection is three walls surrounding society from the man-eating Titans on the other side.

Being isekai'd into a world where man-eating monsters are pretty much in charge of everything doesn't sound very pleasant, especially considering that many people would be unprepared for the sudden change coming from the everyday world.
