In order to not only obtain a future on the surface but also a future where they can all live happily, Simon and his comrades use a Core Drill to activate the mecha's called Gunmen and battle against their oppressors. When friends from the future show up with dismal news of what's to come in Fairy Tail, Natsu and Lucy are determined to change their fate. The concept of fate is brought up by Future Rogue, who's convinced that Lucy is destined to close the Eclipse Gate and instill the dragon apocalypse.
Future Rogue even attempts to kill Lucy to prevent her from fulfilling that prophecy. However, Lucy is able to survive and Natsu is determined to not only defeat Future Rogue but burn this fate to ashes. Thankfully, they're able to defeat Rogue and his dragons and avoid the horrifying future Lucy was meant to endure.

If swapping bodies wasn't enough for Taki and Mitsuha in Your Name, they also discover that Mitsuha and her town are destined to die from a comet. Taki, having realized that he is from a future where Mitsuha died three years ago, will do everything he can to save Itomori.
Thankfully, the pair manage to switch bodies once more and make a plan to avoid the tragic future Taki is from. Despite various difficulties in trying to get everyone to safety, Mitsuha and her friends are able to avoid the worst possible outcome.

With a Romeo and Juliet-like romance, Elizabeth and Meliodas' tale ends in a similar tragedy. Meliodas is cursed to live forever and forced to find Elizabeth before losing her all over again. After suffering so much tragedy, it's unsurprising to learn that these two will do whatever they can to change each other's fate. Thankfully, with the help of the Seven Deadly Sins, Meliodas and Elizabeth were able to break their curses and obtain a happy ending.
