(SPOT.ph) Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto is known for two things: good governance and a good sense of humor. The millennial mayor says the funniest things on Twitter, shows off his "silent basketball" skills on TikTok, and knows a thing or two about dropping the meanest burns. And on November 9, Sotto made a promise that no one expected: "Pangako ko po sa inyo, pagkatapos ng pandemiya, kahit mag-kiss pa tayo, puwedeng-puwede." In a report by ABS-CBN, the Pasig mayor was captured on video making a joke to his constituents in Barangay Rosario. Several residents were shouting, "Mayor, pa-kiss naman."

He responded: "Pasensiya na po, bawal pa po ang kiss. Ipagdasal po natin na matapos na ang pandemyang ito. Ako, hindi ako mahilig mangako. Kahit balikan niyo po 'yong mga sinasabi ko noong panahon ng kampanya noong 2019. Kahit 2016, hindi niyo po ako maririnig na nagpapangako. Ako ho ay naniniwala na dapat gawin na lang natin. Pero pangako ko po sa inyo, pagkatapos ng pandemya, kahit mag-kiss po tayo, puwedeng-pwede."
After the light-hearted remark, supporters can't help but let out squeals and screams.

Sotto is seeking reelection for another term as Pasig City's mayor, a position he won after ending the 27-year dynasty of the Eusebios. Unlike his first mayoralty bid as an independent, he will now run with a vice mayor (former Pasig Representative Robert "Dodot" Jaworski Jr.) and a full council slate.
"Simula 2019, ang laki na ng pagbabagong naipakilala natin sa Pasig. Sa pagbubukas pa lang ng procurement/bidding, nasa isang bilyon piso kada taon ang binaba ng mga presyo ng mga binibili/pinapagawa ng LGU. Ngunit nahirapan tayo at maraming proyekto na naantala dahil sa pandemya. Nine months lang ako naging mayor sa normal na sitwasyon," Sotto said after filing his Certificate of Candidacy on October 1.
He hopes to continue another term as mayor to make up for the lost time because of COVID-19.
"Ang hiling ko lang sa inyo, bigyan niyo ako ng mga kasanggang mapagkakatiwaalan natin. Yung hindi puwesto o pera ang habol, kundi yung magiging katuwang ko para paigtingin pa ang mga reporma't serbisyo ng pamahalaan," he added.
