(SPOT.ph) Believe it or not, it was 2016 when it was first reported that IKEA, Sweden's famed furniture retailer, would be opening their very first store in the Philippines. That's right, we've been waiting over five years to finally see the outpost at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City open. Well folks, mark your calendars, clear your schedules, and prep your wallets because it looks like the wait is finally over. Yes, after years of anticipation, we can officially say that IKEA Philippines is opening on November 25!
IKEA finally announced their opening date today, November 12, through a Facebook post on their official account. According to the post, customers will be able to book shopping slots online soon. Though the outpost is the largest IKEA store in the world standing on 63,000 square meters, it will of course still be subject to capacity limitations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The post also noted that IKEA Family members would be able to get early access to shopping slots. You can sign up to be a part of IKEA Family for free online.
In the meantime, you can already shop IKEA online—their website began test runs in September and has been officially open and fully operational since November 3.
