(SPOT.ph) We're weeks away from the highly anticipated unveiling of IKEA's first-ever store in the Philippines, which has no official opening date, but is set to open some time towards the end of 2021—fingers crossed that we won't be seeing anymore delays. In the meantime, fans of the furniture shop have been enjoying their online store, which began a test-run in September in order to finalize the technical processes needed to make the site run smoothly. Beginning September 23, customers could add items to their cart, though check-outs were limited. If you've yet to get the finds in your online shopping cart delivered, then we have good news. Today, November 3, IKEA Philippines announced that their online store is officially open and fully operational. Best of all, the e-commerce site will run 24/7!
According to IKEA Philippines, the most popular items checked out during the test-run came from the home storage and work space categories—no surprise there as many Filipinos have been continuously improving their home offices as well as decluttering their personal spaces amid quarantine. Other popular finds include budget-friendly home decor pieces like the KUPONG Alarm Clock, the FEJKA Artificial Potted Plant, and the BONDIS Wall Clock. Children’s toys were also a popular purchase.
How to Order From the IKEA PH Online Store
To shop, all you have to do is create an account on the IKEA website—note that website registration is different from that of the IKEA Family membership program. From there, just choose from their wide variety of furniture, decor, storage solutions, and other household necessities, hit add to cart, and check out your orders. IKEA Philippines accepts payments via major credit cards, GCash, and BDO installment.
Once you've completed your purchases, IKEA offers three delivery options: Truck, parcel, and click and collect. Items under 30 kilograms in weight and 1.8 meters in length and height are considered parcel orders. Heavier or larger items, on the other hand, will be delivered by truck. You can also choose to pick up your orders at selected collection points.
Note that truck deliveries are limited to Metro Manila only while parcel delivieries are accessible for orders in Metro Manila as well as in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, parts of Quezon, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bataan, and Subic.
