Local tumbler brand Acqua just unveiled their new line of reusable bottles and they’re available in the most soothing colors. T2 Wireless Earbuds (P6,500) Sudio
Swedish brand Sudio is a fairly new player in the audio-tech game having been founded in just 2012, but they've already made waves in the industry thanks to their uniquely crafted earphones and speakers. They utilize the kind of elegant, minimalist design philosophy you would expect from the Scandinavian region. Their latest wireless earbuds, the Sudio T2, are a perfect example. The no-frills device is available in four shades: White, Black, Sand, and Jade. Each iteration is built with a dynamic driver that provides crisp sound output as well as Active Noise-Cancellation technology, which promises a more immersive listening experience by generating anti-frequencies in real time to block out ambient noise.
Available online.
Sunny Chicago Turntable (P5,250) from Ben and Bart
If you’re looking to get into vinyl, a decent record player will probably be one of your first big purchases. Ben and Bart’s new Sunny Chicago Turntable makes a great first purchase for beginners—not only for its vintage-inspired design, but also for its wallet-friendly price tag, at least compared to other models on the market. While the various knobs and components may look elaborate to first-time vinyl collectors, don't worry because it's pretty user-friendly. All you have to do is plug the player in, place your record of choice on the slip mat, position the needle as instructed, and get ready for a euphoric soundtrip.
Available on Ben and Bart's website, Lazada, and Shopee.
Adidas x Quiccs Forum Low Shoes (P6,500)
Filipino artist and toy designer Juanito Maiquez—better known as Quiccs—has released several cool collaborations with Adidas and it looks like he’s teamed up with the sportswear brand again. This time around, the designer is showcasing his Filipino heritage on a reimagined version of the Forum Low sneakers. Quiccs’ take on the classic silhouette sports a predominantly white exterior with striking red accents and several of the artist’s signature design elements including his crossbones logo and his famous TEQ63 character. The shoe comes with three interchangeable strap designs, giving wearers more options for customization and self-expression.
Available online; see a list of Adidas stores.
Wild With Desire Lipstick (P1,750) from RMS Beauty
Where the mid to late 2010s were all about matte liquid lippies, the 2020s have taken a shift towards more natural makeup products with folks turning to balms, glosses, and creams instead. Though we love the healthy, shiny finish those hydrating lip products provide, the downside is that they usually tend to slip right off after a few hours or so. Enter the Wild With Desire Lipsticks from RMS Beauty, which are now available locally thanks to fashion and beauty hub Adora. Made for everyday wear, these lippies leave your pucker with that same satin finish and low-maintenance look as a gloss or bomb. However, unlike most hydrating lippies, they last for hours with no bleeding or smudging. We’d venture to say they’re one of the most bulletproof non-matte lipsticks you’ll ever try.
Available online and at Adora stores.
Porcelain 11.5 oz Mug Set of 2 in Gold (P699.75) from Curated Home
If you’re looking to brighten up your space with stylish new finds, check out Curated Home. The home decor brand, which is exclusively sold by Robinsons Department Stores, just launched their Holiday 2021 Collection and it’s all about dazzling dinnerware and eye-catching decor. Each piece sports intricate prints, shiny details, and other festive design elements. They’d make great additions to your home and great gifts for your friends and family—we’re currently eyeing their gorgeous new mugs. You can get a set of two for just under P700!
Available online and at Robinsons Department Stores.
Active Concealer (P399) from Issy & Co.
While the local beauty scene has a lot to offer—especially when it comes to lippies and multi-use products—it’s still significantly lacking when it comes to base products, particularly for those with deeper skin tones. Luckily, more brands are stepping their game and expanding their shade ranges. One of them is Issy & Co. Their popular skin tint is available in a variety of shades from light to deep and now, they’ve released their new Active Concealers. While the nine available shades—which range from fair to deep tan—aren’t exactly revolutionary, we give props to the brand for helping boost the movement for inclusivity. The concealers promise to blend seamlessly into the skin with a hydrating formula inspired by nourishing eye creams.
Available on Lazada and Shopee.
123Go Coffee Maker and Grinder (P6,648) from Timemore
In October, Timemore, a brand that specializes in manual brewing devices and accessories, unveiled the 123Go. This ultra-portable contraption is both a coffee maker and grinder in one! It includes four main components: a dripper, a burr grinder, a mesh filter, and a glass cup underneath. To use it, start by putting coffee beans into the middle component and then grinding them as needed—the device has built-in settings that let you choose how fine or coarse you want your coffee grounds to be. From there, pour hot water into the upper chamber and wait about two minutes for the machine to finish extraction. Your finished brew will slowly drip out through the mesh filter and into the glass underneath.
Available on Lazada and Shopee.
Christmas Breeze (starts at P500) from Scents and Sensibilities
They say those magical, euphoric feelings that arise during the holidays tend to disappear when you get older and hey, we get it. It’s hard to feel the Christmas spirit when you’ve got gifts to buy, leaves to file, and e-mails to answer. And while we can’t quite bring back that same old holiday spirit, here’s something that can help make you feel like Christmas is in the air—literally: The Christmas Breeze Candle from Scents and Sensibilities. With notes of spiced cinnamon and peppermint, the cozy scent is sure to give you the warm and fuzzies. They also make soy melts and wax melts in the same fragrance in case candles aren’t your thing.
