(SPOT.ph) In the last two decades or so, new malls have popped up all over Metro Manila and beyond—as a 2014 article from The Guardian once said, malls in Manila "are the city itself" and this has only become truer since the turn of the millennium. While new shopping centers constantly materialize in these parts—we couldn't possibly name them all—there are also those that have been there since the emergence of Manila "malling" culture in the ‘90s. One such mall is Greenbelt.
The sprawling space—home to a wide range of shops, restaurants, leisure destinations, and more—sits on 12 hectares of land in the business center of Makati and includes five sections, namely Greenbelts 1 to 5. Many of these segments hold an unmistakable air of nostalgia, thanks mostly to remnants of the complex’s original layout and interiors. But that doesn't mean Greenbelt is stuck in the past. Their latest update? The newly renovated Greenbelt 3.
Greenbelt 3 is known primarily for its retail. It houses a wide selection of luxury international brands—and don’t worry, that hasn’t changed. In fact, in 2021 and beyond, the mall is only looking to expand its offerings. Starting this October, they're slowly rolling out new stores and concepts you wouldn't want to miss.
Here's what to expect from the newly renovated Greenbelt 3:
Plenty of new stores and concepts before the end of 2021
One highlight of the refreshed Greenbelt 3 that visitors can expect is a newly renovated Louis Vuitton—the 100-square meter space got a makeover that incoporates Filipino culture in its design thanks to a collaboration with interior design firm Philux. Aside from locally sourced furniture and decor, the new LV will house art pieces by Bea Valdes, Olivia d’Aboville, and Monica Delgado.
You’ll also want to drop by the new and improved Bvlgari boutique, which is inspired by Mediterranean and Ancient Roman artistry. Dior, on the other hand, is opening its biggest flagship store in the country in the new wing. Its Greenbelt 3 outpost will exclusively carry the brand's seasonal ready-to-wear collection for the first time.
World-famous labels Rimowa and Kenzo will also be offering new retail concepts at Greenbelt 3 that you won’t find at any of their other outposts around the country. The former is debuting its first flagship store that will house the luggage brand’s most popular collections as well as cool collaborations and seasonal designs. The latter, on the other hand, will be opening its first inline store space.
Other shops to look out for before 2021 ends are Fendi, Off White, Max Mara, Patek Philippe, Univers and Thom Browne, and L'Officine Universelle Buly.
Even more cool shops to look forward to in 2022 and beyond
Though Greenbelt has lots planned for the tail-end of 2021, they're not stopping there. More boutiques and retail concepts will launch in 2022. Some brands to look out for include Celine, Salvatore Ferragamo, Tod’s, Ermenegildo Zegna, Roger Vivier, Loewe, and Jimmy Choo. Plus, keep your eyes peeled for the newly expanded Hermes store, which is sure to be swoon-worthy!
Greenbelt 3 is at Greenbelt Mall, Legazpi Street, Makati City.
