(SPOT.ph) Earlier today, September 14 (the evening of September 13 in U.S. time), the 2021 Met Gala took place at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The annual event serves as a huge fundraiser for the Museum’s Costume Institute and also marks the opening of its annual fashion exhibit—dubbed "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion," which was also the ball's official theme. But let's be real: Everyone in the world watches the Met Gala just to see celebs, public figures, and cultural icons alike rocking ornate, over-the-top gowns and suits. Many outfits from 2021's guest list made headlines—from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's political statement of a white gown to Lil Nas X's transforming gold ensemble—but perhaps no outfit was as talked about (or as meme-worthy) as Kim Kardashian's all-black, full-body coverage outfit.
