(SPOT.ph) Before the pandemic even started, there was already eight million metric tons of plastic waste entering the oceans each year. It's inevitably gotten worse: Face shields and single-use face masks pile up in dump sites, plastic food containers are the norm with all the takeaways and deliveries, and plastic packaging is just everywhere as more people have turned to online shopping for their essentials. If you want to save Mother Earth one piece of bubble wrap at a time, there are various organizations that can recycle trash.

They provide building materials for the construction of low-cost homes, schools, and daycare centers in Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, and Cebu. They also provided eco bricks for walkways in front of Net Park Building in Bonifacio Global City. Their drop-off schedule varies per month so make sure to check their page for updates.

Trash Panda also has a browser-friendly app, which iPhone users can use while waiting for the Apple Store release. Collection fee starts at P150, which mostly goes to transport expenses. Once the waste is identified, you can segregate the garbage and bring it to the nearest drop-off locations of TrashCash's partner organizations and barangays.
