(SPOT.ph) It was arguably the timeless, romantic track “Kahit Kailan” by South Border that catapulted South Border to fame. Their popularity only continued to grow with their next single, titled “Love of My Life.” This song is notably even more notoriously difficult to sing than “Kahit Kailan,” as original band vocalist Brix Ferraris delivered much of it in his trademark falsetto.
In this OG video exclusive, chief songwriter Jay Durias takes through the story of “Love of My Life,” which he describes as a “love song...for getting married.” Fun fact: The track apparently takes inspiration from “the feel of kundiman songs” and—surprise—classic Japanese video games.
