(SPOT.ph) Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz did not only come home from Tokyo with the Philippines' first-ever Olympic gold medal, but also with pledges from both private and public institutions as appreciation for all her hard work and dedication. On August 9, she officially received a P14-million condominium unit—a gift from real estate company Megaworld Corporation. Her fully furnished, two-bedroom home is located at the 47-storey One Eastwood Avenue in Quezon City.

But the spotlight isn't only 100% on Diaz during the house turnover, and for good reason. Prominently displayed in the unit's living room is a charcoal painting by 21-year-old student John Ken Gomez. Commissioned by Megaworld, the work of art captures both the emotional moment right after the Filipina athlete successfully completed a 127-kilogram lift and the historic scene where she received the gold medal. It also has a special message from Megaworld that says, "Thank you for lifting our country up high."

Gomez is currently taking of Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Visual Communication at Far Eastern University. Aside from charcoal painting, he also specializes in using acrylic on canvas.

"The story of Hidilyn’s victory is a great source of inspiration for Filipinos. I hope every time she looks at that artwork, she will be reminded that she is a symbol of hope and pride for all of us," the 21-year-old student said in a statement.
