(SPOT.ph) As the pandemic rages, local government units are doing their best to vaccinate more people. Metro Manila cities, for example, are encouraged to open their vaccination centers even to non-residents to increase daily rates. One's vaccination card is more useful than ever, and people are concerned about making sure that it remains intact. There are some who are converting their cards into a PVC ID to protect it from being crumpled or getting wet.

The Pasig City Public Information Office, however, advised against this practice. In a post on Tuesday, August 24, they cited two reasons: first, the PVC copy is not accepted as a valid vaccination card; second, personal information may be compromised.

"Sa pagpapa-scan ng inyong vaccination card para magawa ang PVC copy nito, binibigyan ninyo ng access ang gagawa sa inyong mga personal information at PasigPass QR code," they said.
The QR code used in contact-tracing applications contains sensitive information, such as your name, birthdate, address, and mobile number. "Iwasan ang pagbibigay ng access dito, lalo sa mga hindi kakilala dahil maaari po itong magamit ng ibang tao," Pasig City Public Information Office added.
To protect your vaccination card, you may have it laminated after getting your second dose, they said.
