(SPOT.ph) With more than 7,000 islands in the Philippines, it doesn't come as a surprise that there are around 170 languages existing in the country. Not to mention the dialects that stem from these languages: Tagalog language, for example, has several dialects depending on where you are. Some Philippine languages have words in common, but that doesn't always mean that they have the same meaning. In today's episode of Probinsyana Problems, we find out that "manang," "libog," and "magulang" mean differently in Hiligaynon and Tagalog. The series is based on a zine launched in 2016 by creator and illustrator Jess Guanco.
