(SPOT.ph) While the adventure is always top of mind when we look for a destination to visit, it doesn't hurt too if we check in at a nice hotel or resort with comfortable beds to plop our tired butts after hours on the road. And here at SPOT.ph, picture-perfect places to stay always catch our attention. For this week's Weekend Spot, we turn our eyes to a little piece of paradise on Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte: Siago Beach Resort.

Most businesses were forced to close down during the pandemic, but not Siago Beach Resort, which saw the quarantine as the perfect opportunity to slowly build their laid-back villas on the island. Construction started in October 2018; and they gradually opened their doors this July, just in time for travelers who are out to satisfy their wanderlust.
The beachfront resort boasts minimalist aeshetics with white-washed walls, woodwork accents, and rattan furnishing. They offer three room options: the Deluxe Double (P6,800), which has sliding glass doors leading to a spacious porch; the King Suite (P7,500), which features a bathroom with sliding wooden doors, a classic closet, a small desk, and a terrace with a view of the pool; and the Beachfront King Villa (P9,000), which guarantees exclusivity as it's separate from the rest of the resort.
Siago Beach Resort also takes pride in their restaurant, which was the first to open in February. They serve Central and South American Cuisine using local ingredients, including the Con Chorizo, which is their version of the Peruvian Salsicha de Huacho; and the Peruano Elote, which is basically Mexican grilled corn but with Peruvian flavors. They also partnered with Yardstick Coffee and Linear Coffee Roasters to provide guests with their caffeine fix.
Siago Beach Resort is in Purok V, Tourism Road, General Luna, Surigao del Norte. Rates start at P6,800, but they're offering a 25% discount if you book in July for stays until February 2022. For more information, visit Siago Beach Resort's website.
