(SPOT.ph) Bikes have become one of the main modes of transportation in Metro Manila, and here's hoping more and more commuters will opt for cycling now that there are bike lanes on more roads. But if you're looking to go on a more leisurely ride this weekend, the National Bicycle Organization and Robinsons Place Manila have set up a fun ride around Manila City's cultural and historic sites. The Robinsons Place Manila Bike Tour is happening on Saturday, July 17. It's open to the public, but most especially beginning riders. To register, head to NBO's website.
Assembly area is at Robinsons Place Manila’s Bike Repair Station near the main entrance along Pedro Gil Street. Ride out is at 4 p.m., so it's best to be there at 3:30 p.m. for an orientation and a last-minute tune-up at the mall's Bike Repair Station. The complete route measures 7.4 kilometers, and the pack's expected to be back at Robinsons Place Manila by 6 p.m.

The Robinsons Place Manila Bike Tour is part of Robinsons Malls’ response to the increasing numbers of bikers in the Metro. They have also provided venues for the National Bicycle Organization's (NBO) bike lessons at Robinsons Place Manila and Robinsons Metro East; launched self-service Bike Repair Stations at Robinsons Malls nationwide; and opened well-lit and secure bike parking areas in the malls.
