On a Scale of Talking Dentures to Part-Cola Moms, How Traumatizing Is This New Ad?

(SPOT.ph) Commercials have taken a turn for the weird lately, to the point were we were starting to think it couldn't get any weirder—until a brand spankin' new one raised the bar even higher. RCBC dropped a crazy new ad for their finance app called DiskarTech on July 5. We know what you're thinking: How could a commercial from a bank's financial inclusion app be anything but boring?

Well, first you let the folks from Katok, (Read: GIGIL's second creative ad agency) and you let them take a whack at it. The result? A commercial that is both deeply unsettling and incredibly hilarious. We lay down how, below.

Add this commercial from Katok, GIGIL's second agency, to your nightmare fuel:

It starts off with an old-timey title card over a farmer plowing fields.

His friend comes by to ask if he can borrow the carabao to go somewhere. A "No," of course, followed by a suggestion to buy a trike.

When the two start arguing about loans, a strange sound from within the carabao distracts them. Yes, as in from that erm, area.

And then out pops a fully grown man. We're going the SFW route here so we're showing just this bit, for your sanity's sake.

It's Kuya DiskarTech! Here to explain the benefits of the app.

Whoops, looks like he forgot something.

It's a tarp. Of course it is.

He then helps one of the farmers out with the app.

And with his job done, slides smoothly back into the carabao.

Wait, nope, he forgot something again! He pops just his head back out to say something, and then the horror is totally over.

One excellent punchline later, the two farmers rejoice at their newfound app.

It is a wild ride and more. Trust us on this. We got some massive Ace Ventura vibes (remember that scene with the rhino?) mixed in with some oddly unsettling clean aesthetics. TBH, this is the first time we've been this interested in a finance app before. We can't wait to see what else Katok's got up their sleeves.

You can check out the full experience below. And if you're a true cineaphile, we suggest reading through the credits, too! As you would with any cinematic masterpiece.
