In fact, we’d much rather distract you from the perils of the pandemic by rounding up some cool finds worth spending your hard-earned cash on this month. What better way to temporarily fill the empty void inside of you than by purchasing stylish fashion pieces, nifty electronics, handy household essentials, and more to momentarily boost your serotonin levels? Exercise, meditation, journaling? Nah, we’ll stick to our online shopping addiction, thank you very much!

Whoopsie Daze Shirt (P650) from Weekend Craft Ales
Folks who collect and splurge on graphic T-shirts know that the best finds are usually the ones that require endless hours of searching, whether by visiting vintage stores or discovering underrated brands. If you’ve been hunting for a new tee for your collection for some time now, here’s a label worth checking out: Local brand Weekend Craft Ales is best known for their tasty, carefully concocted craft beers, but they also make some stylish tees you’ll want to cop, stat. We’re currently eyeing their Whoopsie Daze shirt, which sports a vintage-style illustration in a navy and orange colorway.

DBX 100 12" Blade Box Fan (P5,500) from Asahi
Home appliance brand Asahi took over the Internet—and won the heart of every home improvement-obsessed person on social media—in July 2020 when they unveiled their Aesthetic Appliance series, which featured household essentials like electric fans and waffle makers in white-and-wood designs. They followed up the viral collection with their recently unveiled Disney Appliance Collection, a stylish line of Mickey Mouse-themed electronics decked out in minimalist designs. Our fave from the lineup has to be this gorgeous box fan!

32 oz. Bayou Wide Flex Cap and Boot (P3,290) from Hydro Flask
Looking for a go-to tumbler to keep you hydrated on the reg and minimize your single-use plastic consumption? We’re swooning over Hydro Flask’s new Refill for Good Collection and the Wide Flex Cap bottle in the shade Bayou is just one model on our wish lists. The teal bottle features curved illustrations on the exterior, giving the tumbler a fresh, ocean-inspired look. Plus, Hydro Flask will be donating U.S. $100,000 (roughly P5,030,000) of the collection’s proceeds to the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit organization that works to protect and preserve oceans and beaches across the world. That means you can get a new tumbler and support a cause that benefits the environment all in one go!

Common Folk Tote Bag (P300) from Common Folk
If being addicted to caffeine is pretty much your whole personality and aesthetic, then you’re probably wondering why Common Folk café’s no-frills canvas tote hasn’t been in your bag collection all this time—don’t worry, it’s not too late to buy it. It features an illustration of their IG-famous takeout coffee cup, which reads "no bad days." Check it out the next time you visit the cult-fave coffee house!

New Balance x STAUD 327 Sneakers (P6,995)
New Balance teamed up with Los Angeles-based fashion house STAUD to create a chic collection of activewear pieces perfect for the outdoors. The collaborative line features tees, collared shirts, shorts, tights, skorts, dresses, and (our personal fave) this stylish pair of 327 Sneakers. It features soft blue accents against a predominantly white-and-gray exterior, finished off with a textured brown sole. The result is a pair of shoes that exudes classic and modern appeal with a fresh look that will remind you of tennis attire.
Available at New Balance, R2, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati City.
Le Pliage Green Shoulder Bag (P7,900) from Longchamp
Longchamp just updated their classic Le Pliage handbags, pouches, and backpacks by recreating them using repurposed fabric. Each piece maintains all the Le Pliage’s signature elements—the origami-inspired build, the horse embroidery, the zipper enclosure, and the button flap top—but in an effort to create pieces that are environmentally friendly and reduce the brand’s carbon footprint, the pieces are made of recycled polyamide canvas. If you don’t know which carrier to shop first, you can never go wrong with their beloved shoulder tote. We love it in this versatile moss green shade!
Available at Rustan’s.
Yoghurt Face and Eyes Sunscreen (P1,350) from Korres
The beauty market is extremely saturated these days, both locally and internationally, so it can be tricky sifting through all the new brands popping up online and in stores. A new name in skincare that just landed in Manila is Greek brand Korres and yes, it’s totally worth giving a try. Founded by pharmacist Giorgos Korres and chemical engineer Lena Korres, the brand is all about safe and effective products that harness the power of plant-based ingredients. The first thing you’ll want to test out is their Yoghurt Sunscreen, which has a cream-gel texture and SPF 50 protection. Plus, the fragrance-free formula is great for sensitive skin!
Available on Beauty Bar's website.
Butter Dispenser and Spreader (P89) from Watts
Imagine spreading butter on a warm, fresh-out-of-the-toaster slice of bread in the same way you would spread a twist-up balm onto your lips. Well, that's what this cool device from Watts lets you do—try to resist spreading the butter straight onto your lips and licking it off. All you have to do is slice your butter to fit into this nifty tool and you can use the device to spread butter right over your toast. That way, you get a quick and even butter application each time. You can even use it to spread the butter onto pans, baking sheets, and whatever else you can think of. Once you're done using the spreader, just cover it up and you can store it in your fridge for later use.
