(SPOT.ph) Most cakes are great as they are—you take them out of the box, slice yourself a serving, and sigh with pleasure at first bite—but other cakes take their appeal further by getting you involved. On top of eating it, that is. One such cake is called the tsunami cake or pull-me-up cake, a cake that's made with its frosting or cream component suspended in an acetate-sheet or ring-pan collar.

It might look just like any other cake at first glance, but what makes the tsunami cake different is that you're meant to pull up the acetate sheet or ring mold upon serving—resulting in a dramatic (and very IG-worthy) moment as the frosting or cream cascades down like a lush, gooey, heavenly cloud. Online seller Tsoko makes versions of the tsunami cake in a couple of different flavors—including the Mascarpone Cake

Check out this mesmerizing tiramisu-inspired tsunami cake:

Tsoko's Mascarpone Cake (P650/six inches) is similar to tiramisu with its combo of a coffee sponge cake and silky-smooth mascarpone cream. Be sure to have your smartphone camera ready, and gently lift up the acetate when you're ready to serve—then prepare to be mesmerized as the cream gently flows down the cake's sides.

Because of the mascarpone cream's whippy character, thickness, and pale hue, it almost resembles a cloud draped over the fluffy coffee sponge. Trust us, it's quite the sight to behold—and its tried-and-tested combo of coffee and mascarpone will have you going back for seconds!

Prefer a fruitier bite? Tsoko also makes a similar tsunami-style Strawberries & Cream Cake (P800/six inches) with a light vanilla sponge cake, fresh strawberries and cream, and a vibrant strawberry compote. Just hit up their DMs on Instagram at least two days in advance to place an order.
