(SPOT.ph) You don't usually find the words "relaxation" and "pizza" in the same sentence—sure, eating pizza can be thought of as relaxing in a sense, but it's not exactly the kind of food you'd associate with the idea of slowing down and reclaiming your inner Zen. One local eatery, however, manages to fuse these two worlds together as they dish out great-tasting pizzas from their totally laid-back, serene space. Check out Fabio's Pizza Kitchen, located in Busay, Cebu!

Be sure to add Fabio's Pizza Kitchen to your Busay must-visit list.

Fabio's goes for a rustic, homespun feel that soothes the senses, with the use of wooden elements, hand-woven placemats, and a large window that gives you a peek of the greenery-filled outdoors. This is likely in line with their purpose of healing, which is what drove the establishment of the restaurant. "After being in the construction industry in Singapore for eight years, we found ourselves despondent, disillusioned, and simply exhausted," Fabio's shares on their website. "So we packed our bags and went back home."

The wooden elements make for a totally rustic feel.

In the process, they learned about the "therapeutic effect" of cooking and the satisfaction of serving food to people. In an online exchange with SPOT.ph, owner Joprelle Joyce Ismael also shares that Fabio's started as an extension of fellow Busay establishment Sampaloque Resto and Grill in 2017, before branching out to become its own standalone restaurant come 2019. The Fabio's moniker comes from the name of their pet sharpei, who also happens to be their resident "food expert and taste-tester extraordinaire."

Once you've soaked up the sights and found yourself in a relaxed state of mind, then you can go ahead and take part in their tasty eats—the star of the show being their stone-baked and freshly-prepared pizzas. "Our pizza dough and sauces are all handmade in house," says Ismael. You're in for a tasty ride, whether you go for their simpler pizzas like the Pepperoni (P375) or Margherita (P315); the more offbeat Chicken & Pesto (P350) with chicken chunks and pesto sauce; or the more elaborate Pizza Supreme (P375) with ground beef, mozzarella, and bell peppers.

You can't go wrong with the Pepperoni.

It's also worth saving room for their other signatures, which include pasta dishes like the Pasta Primavera (P225), calzone like the Beef Calzone (P290), and sandwiches like the Cheesy Steak (P230) with beef hash and a cheese-sauce topping.

Fabio's is also home to a couple of pasta dishes.
