(SPOT.ph) The Triple Cheese Doughnuts at Lola Nena's and Litson Baka at Andok's are both local eats with their own respective cult following, having enjoyed their share of the social-media spotlight at different times. They're each drool-worthy in their own right—the doughnuts are hailed for their nostalgic salty-sweet profile, while the litson baka is loved for its smoky flavor and tenderness—but has it ever occured to you to have them together? Yup, that totally just happened. Check out this mashup sandwich that Lola Nena's recently posted on their social media accounts.

This Lola Nena's x Andok's sandwich is not an official product and is not for sale, but you can recreate it at home by pressing a piece of Lola Nena's Triple Cheese Doughnuts into a waffle iron, cutting it in half, then drizzling in some mayonnaise and stuffing it with Andok's Litson Baka strips and sliced red onions or shallots. Watch it in action here:

"When I saw that everyone was buying the litson baka, I tried it too!" shares Lola Nena's Steffi Santana in an exchange with SPOT.ph. "When I ate it, [I thought], parang [ang] sarap niya as [a] roast beef sandwich. So we just tried it with the ingredients we had on hand." Lola Nena's also regularly posts other similar experiments on their TikTok account. "We never really know if something will [pique] the viewers' interest, basta we just keep on experimenting on different ways to eat the doughnuts," she explains.

We know, we know—the idea sounds wild, excessive even, considering the doughnuts and the litson baka are individually on the indulgent side—but for those who dare, you'll be rewarded with a rich bite that's equal parts sweet, savory, smoky, and umami. The slightly-caramelized edges of the waffle-pressed doughnuts make way to a succulent beefy interior, and the crispness and sharpness of the onions help cut through the richness of the other parts.

Game to try it? Lola Nena's Triple Cheese Doughnuts start at P216 for an eight-piece box; you can give them a call or message them on Facebook for orders, or drop by one of their branches.
