Fully Vaccinated Seniors in GCQ, MGCQ Can Now Get Out of the House

(SPOT.ph) Since the start of the quarantine restrictions in March 2020, residents aged 65 years old and above were not allowed to leave their homes for their own safety. And even with easing of rules, some local government units and establishments were still pretty strict about the elderly, especially since they're one of the most vulnerable groups amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

But on Friday, June 11, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that fully vaccinated senior citizens in areas under general community quarantine and modified general community quarantine can finally get out of the house. But they're still prohibited from interzonal travel (going to and from areas with different quarantine status), except for point-to-point travel.

Roque emphasized that they need to bring their vaccination cards at all times and follow minimum health protocols like wearing of face masks and face shields, and social distancing.
