(SPOT.ph) As a melting pot of different cultures, you can find just about any kind of food in Los Angeles—and you're definitely in for a treat if you're a fan of tacos. To say they love tacos is an understatement, as you can find a lot of spots serving up different styles and versions of the said dish! These spots include bigger establishments, small mom-and-pop shops, and of course, good ol' food trucks. If you're in Cebu and are looking to get a taste of the taco-truck experience, here's one you've got to check out: L.A. Taco Truck.

The concept takes inspiration from Chef Kristel Calingasan Thompson's time in Southern California, where she became fascinated with its food-truck and taco scene. She began testing recipes, and by January of 2021, she rolled out the taco truck at Cebu's Sugbo Mercado food market. "L.A. Taco Truck brings [the] authentic L.A. taco taste with Chef [Thompson]'s personal touch," they write on their Facebook page.

The short-but-sweet menu includes tacos (which are served in twos) and taco bowls (with Mexican rice!). You can take your pick from these basic proteins: Pulled Pork (P120/tacos, P180/taco bowl), Jerk Chicken (P120/tacos, P180/taco bowl), Carne Asada (P150/tacos, P220/taco bowl), Sriracha Shrimp (P150/tacos, and even Quinoa (P180/tacos, P280/taco bowl). Alternatively, you can also go for the Taco Sampler (P350) which has all five taco flavors. Pair your choice with their Margarita on the Rocks (P100/12 ounces), and you're all set!

You can get your fix in taco-bowl format, too.

A mom and chef who graduated from the International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management, Thompson has been in the restaurant and hospitality industry since 2006 and has worked different positions including being a server, taking on management roles, and now being a chef with her very own concepts. Aside from L.A. Taco Truck, she's also at the helm of Japanese-food venture Let's Roll! Sushi Bake.

L.A. Taco Truck is at Sugbo Mercado I.T. Park, Cebu City. For more information, check out L.A. Taco Truck's Facebook page or check out Chef Kristel's website.
