Rogue Doughnuts
Would you try doughnuts flavored with patis? Yup, it exists—and you can get it from online shop Rogue Doughnuts! Created in collaboration with renowned pastry chef Miko Aspiras, their doughnuts have a sourdough base and the dough, glazes, and fillings are made in-house using local ingredients. Aside from the Patis Honey-Glazed (P95), their doughnuts also come in other fun flavors like Choco Hazel-Butternut (P125), Lemon Salt Meringue (P125), and 64% Mindanao Dark Chocolate with Cacao Nibs (P95). Pasig-based online seller Gloria’s makes Old-Fashioned Sour Cream Doughnuts—a style of cake doughnuts that originates from Ohio, and that has a slightly-crackly exterior and soft and light interior. They come in varieties like the Sugar Glazed (P360/box of six, P550/box of 12), Oreo Heaven (P450/box of six, P850/box of 12), Sweet Mango (starts at P180/box of two), and the totally picturesque Strawberry Dream (starts at P350/box of two). Beyond their winning nut butters and pillowy buns, 17R Bakehouse also makes totally drool-worthy doughnuts with a sourdough base, from scratch, every day! Sourdough doughnuts get a whimsical spin at Numnut. A slightly enriched milk-bread base makes for fluffy doughnuts with a welcome chewiness at Baker on East. They’re known for their playful fillings that change up monthly—some of the flavors they’ve come up with recently are the Pineapple + Tonka Bean, Chamomile + Strawberry Lychee, Gala Apple + Miso Caramel, and Peanut Butter + Juniper Jelly! Manbuns Pastries
You can get all sorts of baked treats (we’ll leave it to you to decide if they resemble their namesake) from this cheekily-named online seller—and that includes their golden, gleaming doughnuts! Purists can go for the Sugar-Glazed Doughnut (P175/six pieces), but they’ve also got other must-try flavors like the Creme Brulee, Nutella, Cinnamon, Maple Bacon, and Ensaymada that you can get for P300 for a six-piece assorted box. Though primarily a burger shop, Buns & Bros also makes swoon-worthy doughnuts that are made fresh every day. You can go for solo doughnuts like the Boston Cream (P95), Latik (P85), or Creme Brulee (P95)—or go all-out with the Birthday Donut Cake (P700), which features five Classic Birthday Cake and Chocolate Birthday Cake doughnuts stacked together; you can add candles or a 150-character message too, if you'd like. Pasig-based purveyor Needletail Coffee is your one-stop shop for cold-brew coffee, sourdough bread, and what they call their Sourdoughnuts. They’ve got glazed variants like the Cinnamon Sugar Raised (P70), Vanilla Bean Glaze (P75), or Strawberry Milkshake Glaze with Sprinkles (P80)—but if you’d like a sweet surprise, you can also try the filled doughnuts like the Chocolate Hazelnut (P85), Lemon Meringue (P80), and Creme Brulee (P90).
