Singles, This Bitingly Hilarious Commercial Is Here to Remind You of Your "Di Mahal" Status

(SPOT.ph) It looks like 2021 is trying to compensate for the general bad mojo with hilarious commercials. The latest one to drop, though, cut the hilarity with a really, truly painful edge—especially for those who dared to hope, a.k.a. mga umasa. Not sure how that's possible? Greenwich just made it so. Who knew pizza could make us feel so many things?

They dropped the massive attack on Facebook on May 12 and trust us, you need to prepare yourself for this.

Add this to the list of funniest Filipino commercials:

filipino commercials
It starts with a boy asking a girl to sit down, like you should be doing for this commercial.

Uy, harana! How sweet.

Sun streaming in, just the two of them, and a guitar. It's the perfect setting.

These lyrics though.

Suprise! The song isn't for her.

And with a little fourth-wall breaking and a hilarious narrator we'd like to hurt, the commercial delivers its punchline.

Aw, it went great! For them, that is.

Again: same, girl, same.

If there were awards for best and worst tagline, this would win both.

Like we needed a reminder. "Di ka naka-ilag 'no?" says the cheeky Facebook caption about the direct hit they just served up. They even added a P.S. saying  "'Wag masyado madami order, mag-isa ka lang naman kakain." Honestly, they didn't have to go so hard. We haven't laugh-cried this hard in so long.

This isn't the first time Greenwich stole everyone's attention with their commercials. In 2020, they also gave us a super-short and self-aware clip of Greenwich personnel promoting bestsellers—and then saying sorry for disturbing you pre-YouTube video. And yup, the crazy GIGIL agency is behind this new path their commercials are taking.

Before you check out the whole "Di Mahal" commercial, remember what Twitter queen Alessandra de Rossie once said. You can choose your own path! And if pizza makes you happier than any other person ever did, then so be it.
