Mark Your Calendars: Salcedo Market Is Reopening This Weekend

(SPOT.ph) Weekends were always made all the more relaxing with a stroll down Makati's Salcedo Market—after all, the Saturday market is well-known for having all kinds of great eats and drinks in one breezy, open-air space. With the recent shifts in quarantine statuses, the market has been closed in the past weeks—but if you've been missing the market-going experience, the good news is that they'll be reopening on May 22. Mark your calendars!

Salcedo Market will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., so set those alarms and try to resist the urge to sleep in this coming Saturday! You can expect them to be following safety precautions, too, like taking temperature checks and issuing health-declaration checks for customers, as well as limiting the number of customers inside the market at a given time. Be sure to do your part by wearing your face mask and face shield! Only those between 18 and 65 years old will be allowed inside.

Do your part by following their safety protocols.

You can enter through the corners of Toledo and Leviste streets, and exit through Tordesillas street. Once you're inside, go ahead and browse the stalls, then point to the items you'd like to buy; payment and change are to be given through cash trays. Note that eating and drinking inside the market is prohibited—though they do have a dining area on Toledo street where two people are allowed per table at a time.

Can't head out? Not a problem; you can still order from the vendors on their updated directory for takeout or delivery.

The Salcedo Market is at Jaime C. Velasquez Park, Makati City. For more information, check out the Salcedo Market's Facebook page.
