(SPOT.ph) So, it's official! Netflix is giving us three more seasons of steamy Regency-era scandals to look forward to. Yup, Bridgerton seasons three and four were confirmed by none other than Lady Whistledown's Society Papers on April 13 (Read: A Twitter post from the show's official account). "This author shall have to purchase more ink..." wrote the mysterious columist—meanwhile, we'll have to prep our streaming stations.

Considering the second season hasn't even premiered yet—and the Shondaland-produced show has been dropping major teasers for an equally diverse cast—fans are freaking out over the promised continuation. No plotlines have been confirmed for seasons three and four as of writing, but thankfully, we do have the OG material to fall back on.
Bridgerton is based on a series published in the early 2000s by author Julia Quinn. The series centers on the eight Bridgerton siblings with each one having their own book to detail their adventures in finding true love (And yes, it is as R-Rated as the TV adaptation).
The first season of the show was all about the eldest Bridgerton daughter, Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), and her romantic ruse-turned-very-real with Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page)—all this was based on the first book of Quinn's series, The Duke and I. Now the upcoming second season focuses on the eldest Bridgerton son, the Viscount Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and his Taming of the Shrew-esque romantic adventures—also based on Quinn's second book, The Viscount Who Loved Me. Don't you just love these titles?
With the way the first two seasons have been getting their material from the respective books, it seems very likely that the next two seasons will follow suit! Beware of major spoilers from the books below.
A peek into Julia Quinn's books for Bridgerton seasons three and four:
An Offer From a Gentleman
Season 3 may take from the novels' third book, An Offer From a Gentleman, which has Benedict (Luke Thompson) up next on the marriage slate! He is just as much of an artist in the books as he is in the series adaptation—though the show's version might just have a major plot diffrence. In his own novel he is paired with a certain Sophie Beckett, an earl's daughter-turned-maid thanks to a cruel stepmother.
Romancing Mister Bridgerton
Season 4 may get very exciting for Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Fans of the show may know what's going down from the first season alone, but this book is a major turning point in the series of novels! And the "Mister Bridgerton" mentioned in the title? That's our very own blumbering Colin (Luke Newton). Both Colin and Penelope go through some major growing up in this novel, sure to make for one heck of a season for the show.
