(SPOT.ph) With the enhanced community quarantine extended until April 11 (at least) in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, healthcare workers as well as Authorized Persons Outside of Residence have been having hard time getting to work due to restrictions in public transportation. The Department of Transportation announced that passenger buses traveling along EDSA under their Service Contracting Program will be giving free rides to healthcare workers (HCW) and Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR) starting tomorrow, April 7.

This is in response to a directive by Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade to assist healthcare workers and APORs. To avail of the service, passengers only need to present their IDs. The free ride is available 24/7.
Aside from passenger buses, the transport agency is also offering free jeepney rides along 50 routes all over NCR+. Some of the routes include Quezon Avenue - LRT 5th Avenue Station, ParaƱaque Integrated Terminal Exchange - SM Southmall, Alabang - Calamba, and Silang - Zapote.
