(SPOT.ph) Angel Locsin is setting up a community pantry and taking it to the next level. The actor took to Instagram to share what she has planned for her birthday (which is on April 23) and it is looks like she's giving away goodies to those in need in a mini-grocery setting. As if we needed any more proof that she really is Darna.

Locsin's community pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 23 at the Titanium Commercial Building, 36 Holy Spirit Drive corner Don Matias Street, Don Antonio Heights, Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City.

Why Angel Locsin Chose to Celebrate With A Community Pantry

Locsin shared that she decided to celebrate her birthday in this manner, "bilang pagpupugay sa bayanihan ng mga Pilipino at sa mga nagtayo ng mga community pantries." Note that their banner still carries the "Magbigay ayon sa kakayahan. Kumuha batay sa pangangailangan." message that was first spotted at the Maginhawa community pantry.

A peek at the pantry shared by the actor and humanitarian on her IG stories show just how big the project will be! Locsin also noted that all volunteers were tested. Protocols must also be followed and she even called for folks to bring their own reusable bags.

Community pantries have popped up in the past week after Patricia Non put out a small cart along Maginhawa Street in Quezon City in mid-April to help fill the gaps. Since then, hundreds of similar efforts—all inspired by the Maginhawa Community Pantry—have sprouted across the nation, even reaching Timor Leste. And despite the red-tagging and confusion, it looks like goodness is winning.
