(SPOT.ph) When you're looking for drool-worthy Thai dishes with the real-deal, complex punch of flavor the cuisine is known for, you can always count on Samyan at Power Plant Mall's The Grid to deliver. Don't just take our word for it, though, as they've been recognized by a renowned Thai award. That's right: the food-hall stall has been given the Thai SELECT Casual Award by the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Royal Government of Thailand.
The Thai SELECT is no ordinary award, mind you—this certification is granted by Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) to mark the authentic Thai taste of Thai food products and restaurants within and outside Thailand. In particular, the Thai SELECT Casual Award is granted to Thai restaurants around the world that cook up great-quality Thai food, and that have more casual, laid-back dining setups, e.g. fast-food restaurants, food trucks, and the like.
Samyan is The Grid's resident Thai stall; it opened in 2019. At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Thitid “Tonn'' Tassanakajohn, who also owns no less than
Bib Gourmand-awarded Baan and Michelin-starred Le Du in Bangkok. Just some of the dishes you can't go wrong with at Samyan are the Creamy Shrimp Tomyum Soup (P355/solo, P690/for sharing), Chicken Krapao (P250, plus P30 for their Thai-omelette topping), and Tom Yum Fried Rice.
