(SPOT.ph) Pet parents know the cost of having four-legged family members. There's the daily vitamins, monthly sack of quality kibble, and annual vaccines. And if you tend to spoil your furkids, you also spend on fancy toys, expensive beds, and cute pet outfits. Just goes to show how much you care for these loyal companions. And if you're keen on looking out for them, Malayan Insurance Co., Inc. now offers Pet Care Insurance for pet dogs.

Coverage includes reimbursement for any treatment or confinement at the vet in the event of an accident or disease. It also has a liability coverage feature for when the insured dog causes damage outside the owner's home or bites another person. (Those anti-rabies shots for humans cost a lot!) There's also a personal accident feature (a.k.a. monetary compensation) for instances of "accidental death, disablement, and dismemberment."

Pet Care Insurance comes in three plans with a one-time premium ranging from P2,800 to P5,400 for a year-long insurance. Range of coverage is from P100,000 to P300,000.

To avail of the pet insurance, the dog must be between six months to eight years old, has updated vaccination, and receives annual check-ups. Stunt dogs; dogs for police, security, and military services; and dogs raised for sports are not qualified.
