(SPOT.ph) Bonifacio Global City is one of the most bike-friendly spots in Metro Manila. Between rows of your favorite retail stores and dining spots are roads with special bike lanes, including 2nd Avenue, 11th Avenue, 28th Street, 30th Street, 31st Street, and Rizal Drive. Plus, there are plenty of bike racks in the area to make sure that your two-wheeler is safe if you're heading inside the malls. But if you have yet to acquire the life skill of riding a bike, the National Bicycle Organization holds biking lessons for kids and adults every Sunday along 31st Street beside Track 30th Park.

Two-hour sessions are at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Only two students are allowed per slot, so you have to book your appointment through their website. Payment is at P300 per head, which you can settle through credit or debit card, Coins.ph, GCash, or PayMaya. You don't have to bring a bicycle since the rental is already part of the fees. According to the National Bicycle Organization (NBO), it only takes about 30 minutes to learn so you get the rest of the time to bike around on your own.

The NBO advocates for a "bicycle-friendly Philippines" by promoting bikes as "alternative mode of transportation and lifestyle." Using the two-wheeler for short trips and errands would minimize your carbon footprint, help clean the air, and decongest the roads.
