(SPOT.ph) People associate the month of love with chocolate, which is why you'll find all sorts of chocolate confections, drinks, and desserts this time of the year. But a relatively lesser-traveled route is that of chocolate in savory dishes. While some dishes traditionally use chocolate (e.g., Mexican mole), using chocolate in meals still isn't something you'll find often in our shores. If you're open-minded enough to try it, here's something to look forward to this month: Japanese restaurant Kazunori has teamed up with local brand Auro Chocolate to make a special menu with dishes that use chocolate and different parts of the cacao bean, and they'll be available at Kazunori until February 28!

Yup, this abalone starter has cacao butter and cocoa powder!

If you think chocolate and seafood is a weird combination, these starters might just change your mind: There's the Cacao Yuzu Oyster (P1,100) or oyster sashimi brushed with yuzu jelly and Auro cacao butter; and the Cacao Uni Caviar Abalone (P850) or marinated abalone in Auro cacao butter topped with uni, caviar, and salmon roe sprinkled with Auro cocoa powder. Once you're done with that, you can try the Spiced Chocolate Tori Sando (P420)—a Japanese sandwich of crunchy chicken thighs dipped in Auro cacao butter and drizzled with Auro's unsweetened tablea.

Looking to warm up this cuddle weather? You'll definitely want to try the Auro Tori Paitan Ramen (P600)—it's got hand-pulled noodles inflused with Auro cacao in a light and creamy chicken broth plus meats. There's also the Tori Chashu Cacao Tsukemen (P600), their take on tsukemen (dipping ramen) which has the cacao-infused noodles plus chicken, pork, and, egg, topped with shavings of Auro 32% white chocolate. If your noodle of preference is soba, try the Cacao Butter A4 Wagyu Soba (P1,200), which has the said noodles plus an Auro cacao butter tare sauce and Auro cacao powder-infused sous vide A4 Wagyu beef.

There are meaty options as well: the Cacao Crusted Binchotan Yaki (P1,100) has grilled lamb chop marinated in Auro cacao nibs and cacao butter, then crusted in cacao nibs; the Chocolate Gyu Curry Don (P950) has New York beef marinated in Auro cacao butter, cacao powder, and nibs, then served in a 64% dark-chocolate dome over rice.

Of course, the menu includes dessert as well—you'll want to leave room for the Banana Peanut Butter Cacao Tempura Roll (P250), a roll of Auro 64% chocolate with toasted dried seaweed (!) and banana, and drizzled with semi-sweet crunchy peanut butter. Matcha fans, definitely go for the White Chocolate Matcha Tiramisu (P300), which has lady fingers and creamy matcha mousse infused with Auro 32% white chocolate and topped with Auro cacao powder.
