(SPOT.ph) When COVID-19 hit the Philippines, biking became the norm. You get to places on your own, you can stay as far from people as possible, plus you get to exercise those muscles that have gotten so used to staying home. A lot of people just bought their first folding bikes, while others just learned how to ride the two-wheeled (or three-wheeled!) contraption. But if you're looking to test out a handmade bamboo bikes in one of the coolest streets in the Metro, Bambike reopened their doors in Intramuros for bike rentals.

Intramuros tours are still suspended, and most museums and tourist attractions are still closed. But there's no stopping you from renting a Bambike for P100 per hour and riding off into the sunset, as they say. Intramuros' cobblestone streets and ruins make for great photos with the sleek bamboo bike. You can also stop by famous monuments along the roads and learn more about our history. Face masks and faceshields are required, and minors are not allowed to rent a bike.
Bambike advocates sustainability by promoting the use of bamboo-made bikes and cycling as a normal means of transportation. Bamboo is a fast-growing grass that doesn't need much to grow. It can grow to full size in just four months. On the other hand, choosing to cycle—instead of driving a car—minimizes air pollution, road congestion, and carbon footprint.
