(SPOT.ph) Baguio City in Benguet saw an influx of tourists over the holidays, especially since they've been open to tourists of all ages from entire Luzon since October 22, 2020. But the holiday destination also saw "an increase in mortality rate, and the rate of infection and transmission among minors" in the last three weeks, according to mayor Benjamin Magalong. With this, the city is implementing a "strict observance of age-based stay-at-home restrictions" from January 19 to February 1. Travelers below 15 and above 65 years old can still enter Baguio, but are prohibited from leaving the hotel or any accommodation establishment unless for an emergency.

Other business establishments and tourism destinations within the city are also prohibited from accepting guests beyond the 15-to-65 age range. This is applicable even if they're accompanied by their families.

If you're traveling to Baguio, you're required to present the QR Coded-Tourist Pass, which can be secured through the Baguio VISITA website. You also need to get tested for COVID-19 (either RT-PCR or antigen) at least 72 hours before travel. Only tour operators, travel agents, and accommodations accredited by the Department of Tourism have been allowed to operate. The number of visitors to the city is limited to 200 persons per day.
