This Colorful Flower Farm Is Just an Hour From Manila

(SPOT.ph) Finding patches of green, more so a field of colorful flowers, is hard to do in Metro Manila. It's a good thing that the chilly foothills of Sierra Madre are just to the right, on our eastern border. If you're looking to go on a weekend getaway, breathe in some fresh air, and take photos of vibrant flowers, Celossian Flower Farm in Baras, Rizal, has reopened their doors post-quarantine (and post-super typhoon). It has rows of celosia flowers, which are known for their bright yellow, pink, and orange colors. Anyone can check out this kaleidoscopic attraction for only P20.

The celosia, which is also known as woolflowers or cockscombs, features flame-like flower heads that bloom once a year. It grows in the wet season and is easily cultivated in humid areas.

Celossian Flower Farm is in easy one-hour drive from SM City East Ortigas in Pasig City. You can take a route that goes through Ortigas Avenue Extension and E. Rodriguez Avenue. There are a number of attractions in Rizal you can check out along the way.
