(SPOT.ph) When Filipino-American director Diane Paragas's directorial debut Yellow Rose—which centers around an undocumented immigrant—was first released in 2019 to Trump's America, it was met with great acclaim. Sure the stellar cast, including two-time Tony-award nominee Eva Noblezada front and center, along with Lea Salonga and Princess Punzalan, was a good reason for all the praise, but in case you want to see for yourself why the movie made such an impact, then best mark your calendars for when Yellow Rose makes its way home on January 29! The movie will be available to watch online through ABS-CBN's platforms KTX.ph and iWant TFC.

Noblezada stars as Rose, an undocumented Filipino girl living in Texas who wants to become a great country music singer—that is, until Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests her mother (Punzalan). The turn of events forces the young girl to choose between staying in the only place she's ever known as home or going back to the Philippines, all while struggling to hang on to her dreams. Salonga joins the cast as Rose's aunt.
The hard-hitting tale made the international festival rounds in 2019, reaping awards left and right. Noblezada was selected for a Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Performance at the 35th Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival in May. It was also the first Filipino film acquired by Sony for a U.S. theatrical release in October 2019.
The movie will also be getting a local premiere event on January 29; you can attend the digital premiere along with a couple of the film's stars. Tickets are at P150 and can be purchased through KTX.ph.
