(SPOT.ph) Baguio City in Benguet is just one of the many tourist destinations that had to close this past year. But on September 1, the Summer Capital of the Philippines reopened to its locals; on September 21, they started accepting travelers from La Union, Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte; and finally, on October 22, they reopened their borders to guests from Luzon. Trips were limited to private vehicles until December 28, when point-to-point buses were allowed to operate again from Cubao to Baguio and vice-versa.

Victory Liner resumed Baguio-to-Cubao operations on December 27, with scheduled trips at 8 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m., while the Cubao-to-Baguio route resumed on December 28 with trips at 5 a.m., 10 a.m., and 3 p.m. Point-to-point fare is at P576.

The bus line is implementing a "no complete documents, no boarding" policy. Travelers are required to present their QR Coded-Tourist Pass, which can be secured through the Baguio VISITA website. You also need to get tested for COVID-19 (either RT-PCR or antigen) at least 72 hours before travel. Only tour operators, travel agents, and accommodations accredited by the Department of Tourism have been allowed to operate. The number of visitors to the city is limited to 200 persons per day.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board also allowed 10 point-to-point provincial bus routes to resume operations starting December 21. These include Clark-Subic via SM North EDSA, Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Lubao, and Dagupan; Baguio City-Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange; Batangas City-Ortigas, Batangas City-Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX); Lipa City-Ortigas, Lipa City-PITX.
