Yes, You Can Do Your Christmas Toy Shopping in Peace

Mayors of the capital region have decided against allowing the entry of minors in shopping malls, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said Thursday.

Metro Manila mayors unanimously voted to reject the idea of allowing children and teens in shopping malls this Christmas month as the capital region remains under general community quarantine, Garcia told reporters.

"Unanimous po, 17-0, the mayors will not allow minors to go out," Garcia said.

Garcia said Metro Manila mayors consulted the Philippine Pediatric Society on the matter.

Earlier, the Department of the Interior and Local Government said minors accompanied by their parents or guardians can go to shopping malls if local government units pass ordinances allowing them to do so.
