These Sushi and Tempura Platters Are Perfect for Your Holiday Feast

(SPOT.ph) Can you believe it's officially December? With everything that has happened this year, the Christmas season is far from the way it's been the previous years. If you're planning a small (and socially distanced) celebration at home and want to go beyond the usual holiday fare, how about feasting on Japanese eats for a change? Here's where you can get your fix: Yayoi is offering ready-to-serve platters that have their best-selling Japanese dishes, and they're good for sharing!

Love sushi? Go for the Signature Sushi Platter (P1,899), which combines traditional and modern variants, including the Salmon Aburi Roll, Yakiniku Roll, California Roll, and Spicy Kani Roll with Tamago and Edamame. Each roll delivers a different flavor profile, and there's a variant for everyone in this platter.

Maybe sushi isn't your thing, and that's all right. If you're looking for a crispy bite, get the Fried Favorites Platter (P1,699), which has Ebi Tempura, Pork Tonkatsu, Chicken Karaage, Kani Tempura, and Fried Gyoza. This hefty platter is best enjoyed with beer on the side—what better accompaniment to fried food, really?

Can't choose, or just prefer a little bit of everything in one go? You can go for the Premium Feast Platter (P2,199), which combines Yayoi's bestsellers: the Spicy Salmon Roll, Yakiniku Roll, Spicy Kani Roll, California Roll, Kani Tempura, Tamago, Edamame, and even Chicken Namban!

All platters come in a round tray tied with a Yayoi ribbon, which means they could also make for a great gift for your loved ones, too.

The ready-to-serve platters are available at all Yayoi branches in the Metro—namely the SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, One Bonifacio High Street, Salcedo Village, and SM North Edsa stores. They'll also be available at their soon-to-open Eastwood branch. If you can't head out, you'll also be happy to know that you can get them delivered through their website—just add to cart and check out!

Yayoi is a Japanese establishment that opened in the Philippines in 2016. They cover just about everything—from sushi to tempura to noodle soups and more. When you dine in, ordering is done through a tablet attached to every table, making for an ultra-efficient experience.

And if you're looking for a sweet accompaniment to your Japanese feast, why not try a matcha drink? We're huge fans of Mama Cha's Matcha Milk & Espresso Panna Cotta, a bottle beverage that's got real earthy matcha milk paired with a robust espresso panna cotta!
