(SPOT.ph) Traveling amid the pandemic has shifted big time. Gone are the days when you can just get on the car and drive as far as you can for the weekend. Now, depending on local protocol, you have to get a swab test and secure other documents. It's even more rigid with air travel. Hopefully, things will be looking up in 2021; especially with Cebu Pacific giving away huge discounts for flights from September 1 to November 30, 2021. Booking period is from December 17 to 19.
One-way base fare go as low as P99. This includes routes from Manila to Bacolod, Bohol, Boracay (Caticlan), Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cauayan (Isabela), Cebu, Coron (Busuanga), Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Kalibo, Legazpi, Marinduque, Masbate, Naga, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, San Jose (Mindoro), Siargao, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Virac, or Zamboanga. There are also discounted fares from Clark or from Cebu.
Passengers with existing Travel Funds, whether it's converted from canceled or postponed flights during the community quarantine, can use their virtual wallet to pay online. They're also offering Flexible Booking options just in case you wish to rebook your flights down the road.
Cebu Pacific implements a three-way approach to boost travel confidence among passengers: sanitation and safey, track and trace, and testing. The airline boasts a seven-star safety rating, which features daily disinfection, use of hospital grade filters onboard, and contactless flight procedure. They're also using Department of Transportation's unified contract tracing app for the aviation industry called "Traze."
They're also offering discounted rates (P3,000) for RT-PCR testing at three partner laboratories. Soon, the airline also hopes to roll out the Test Before Boarding process, where passengers can have their antigen tests at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport just three hours before their time of departure. They've pilot tested this scheme for flights from Manila to General Santos City.
