(SPOT.ph) Tea has gone from being known as a hot, soothing drink to becoming a standalone flavor in its own right that can be enjoyed in other spinoff treats. One of the places in Manila that celebrates tea (specifically, Japanese tea) both in its original beverage form and as other variations is Tsujiri, and they've recently introduced new desserts that'll give you another way to enjoy the taste of tea. By that, we're talking about their new Matcha Flan and Houjicha Flan!
Tsujiri's Matcha Flan and Houjicha Flan have the flavors of their respective teas, in a creamy, jiggly format that'll have you going back for more spoonfuls. You can have the solo flans for P150, or with ice cream and shiratama (sweet rice) balls for P200. We highly recommend the latter, as it'll give you contrast in both texture and temperature—the combination of creamy flan with cold ice cream and chewy shiratama is a must-try! These desserts are available for dine-in, with limited stocks per week.
Tsujiri is a 155-year old matcha brand from Uji, Kyoto in Japan that opened in the Philippines in 2017. They are known for their selection of real-deal matcha and other tea drinks, as well as tea-infused desserts that include ice cream, cakes, and pastries. They're one of our favorite places to get our matcha fix, and their Matcha Jelly Sundae is our absolute favorite matcha dessert in Manila.
Tsujiri has branches at LG/F SM Aura Premier, C5 Road corner 26th Street, Bonifacio Global City and 3/F Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, Makati City. See a list of Tsujiri branches. For more information, check out Tsujiri's Facebook page.
