America and Britain have started vaccinating their citizens for COVID-19, setting the tone for the global fight against the pandemic. In the Philippines, authorities hope to start the immunization drive as early as the end of March 2021.

How much will the vaccine cost? There are no immediate guidelines yet for the commercial release. However, there are estimates available, based on the budget submissions to lawmakers.

Sen. Sonny Angara, who sponsored the 2021 budget bill in the Senate, released the following prices. Take note that the prices are for two doses and inclusive of 12% VAT and adjusted for up to 10% inflation.

  • Astra Zeneca (P610)
  • Novavax (P366)
  • Pfizer (P2,379)
  • Moderna (P3,904 to P4,504)
  • Sinovac (P3,629.50)
  • Gamaleya (P1,220)
  • COVAX Facility (P854)

Angara also noted additional costs: P1,200 for training per vaccinator (1 vaccinator for every 35 people) and peripherals for vaccinators to cover masks, shields, alcohols and cotton balls at P962 per dose or P1,942 per two doses.
