(SPOT.ph) It’s no secret that the Philippines is a basketball-obsessed country, so when news of a Jordan Store opening in Manila first began circulating in late October, sports fans all over the country buzzed with excitement. It was announced on November 28 that the first-ever Jordan Store in Manila will officially be opening on Thursday, December 3 and you can start booking a visit as early as now. We're sure you've already marked your calendars and cleared your schedules just to make time to drop by. In case you just can't wait, here's a look inside the first Jordan Store in Manila, located at Bonifacio Global City!
The Jordan brand, as its name suggests, is wholly inspired by the legacy of basketball legend Michael Jordan. The store is decked out end-to-end in artworks, design fixtures, and memorabilia that commemorate the beloved sport. "This store will help take the future of basketball culture to the next level by inspiring our new generation, through the legacy of Jordan," says Jino Ferrer, Nike Philippines' country marketing manager in a statement.
The gargantuan sportswear store spans 4,500 square feet and it will be home to shoes, apparel, and more from the famed Jordan brand. Though there are several places in Manila where you can shop Jordan sneakers, the official Jordan store will be the brand's homebase and biggest hub. The Jordan Store will hold the largest assortment of Jordan apparel in all of Southeast Asia. Plus, they have pieces fit for men, women, and children lining their shelves, so everyone can enjoy browsing and shopping. The Jordan Store also offers a one-on-one styling service known as Custom 23, which allows shoppers to customize Jordan products. There will also be designs from eight globally acclaimed artists, which will be used to customize laces, dubraes, aglets and tees.
To complete the ball-centric space, the Jordan Store’s rooftop features a basketball court decked out in a mural inspired by the game. Designed by New York-based artist Kimou Meyer, the red, white, and black painting depicts an abstract interpretation of two figures playing a one-on-one game.
For the launch of the first Jordan store in the Philippines, Jordan Manila will be releasing the limited edition Air Jordan 4 Retro Manila Edition Sneakers, which will be available when the store officially opens on December 3. Only 150 pairs of the sneaker will be released!
