Fashion Creatives, This Online Talk Is for You

(SPOT.ph) What did Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent have in common with Ralph Lauren and Vera Wang? (Besides the obvious, of course.) They’re pairs that show the great things that can happen when you have a good mentor, especially when you’re looking to make it big in the fashion business. That’s the idea behind an upcoming Zoom conference produced by PHx Fashion.

Happening on Wednesday, December 16, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., PHx Fashion Talks About Mentorship will feature former Project Runway Philippines coach Jojie Lloren along with Jason Lee Coates, co-director of Tokyo-based H30 Fashion Bureau, and Jude Macasinag, a fashion student currently based in Paris. It will be moderated by Pauline Suaco-Juan, executive director of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions, better known as CITEM.

PHx Fashion is an initiative started by young Filipino fashion designers like Seph Bagasao and Esme Palaganas, with Trickie Lopa of Art Fair Philippines, to “take fledging Filipino brands to a global level.” Previous panel discussions featured Len Cabili or Filip+Inna and Anya Lim of Anthill in a talk about how the pandemic has affected the local weaving industry, and Rags2Riches’ Reese Fernandez-Ruiz and designer Rosenthal Tee on how to make concrete action plans through 2020 and beyond.

PHx Fashion Talks About Mentorship is happening on December 16 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. To register, log on to the PHx Fashion Conference website.
