(SPOT.ph) There's eating your heart out, and then there's eating your heart out with the fresh sea breeze and the breathtaking sight of the Manila Bay sunset right in front of you. If the thought of the latter gets your senses tingling, you're in for a treat as we've got good news: Mercato Centrale is hosting PasaYahin, BuYummYhan—a socially-distanced outdoor food market at the fountain area of SM by the Bay at the SM Mall of Asia, opening on December 5.
The fair will be open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, so you can drop by early to catch the sunset or later to enjoy the cool evening breeze. Be sure to bring your appetite: you can treat yourself to all sorts of eats from a number of well-loved restaurants. Go ham on tacos from El Chupacabra, Taiwanese-style fried chicken from Monga, global eats from The Alley by Vikings, Chinese bites from Mey Lin and Golden Bamboo, Thai specialties from Crying Tiger Kitchen, Latin chicken from Gringo, Pinoy classics from Guagua’s Best and Laing ni Kap, inasal from JT Manukan, grilled meat at Gen BBQ, comforting bowls from Recovery Food.
Still hungry? You'll also be able to order from Mercato stalls like Mamay’s Ihaw, Kori’s Prawns, Please N’ Thank U Café, Kneads by Margareth, Mares Pares, and Bad Burritos, For Heaven’s Shake, Milk Tea Zero, and Liquor by Pernod Ricard! You'll be satisfying those cravings and helping local restaurants and small businesses in the process.
PasaYahan, BuYummYhan will be strictly implementing the health and safety protocols based on the standards of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases—so be sure to wear your mask and shield and practice social distancing. Mercato Centrale will also be donating a portion of their earnings to Project Aral, a program by independent children's organization Save the Children Philippines that provides educational materials and alternative learning platforms to low-income families affected by the pandemic.
If you can't wait to get your outdoor-dining fix, we've put together a list of restaurants in Manila with great al-fresco dining areas—including Wildflour in BGC, Rockwell, and Salcedo, and Lampara in Poblacion. Wherever you decide to go, be sure to follow the safety protocols to protect both yourself and those around you!
PasaYahan, BuYummYhan will be at the Fountain Area, SM by the Bay, Seaside Boulevard, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. For more information, check out Mercato Centrale's Facebook page.
