You Might Soon Be Able to Shop Easytrip RFID Stickers Online Again

Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation will once again make Easytrip RFID stickers available through Shopee and Lazada in the coming weeks, a reliable source within the company tells TopBikes.ph. We say "again" because Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) previously tapped the two online shopping platforms to provide its RFIDs, but the agreement was eventually halted due to motorists experiencing technical glitches stemming from improper placement of the electronic tags on their vehicles.

This issue of self-installation, our source says, has been ironed out by the Easytrip Corporation by providing more detailed instructions on the proper placement of the RFID tags. In addition, the source also warned owners of small-displacement motorbikes (those with engine displacements below 400cc) against buying RFIDs online and installing them on their units because tollway traffic enforcers will be on the lookout.

"Look out ng patrol namin 'yon. But if their OR/CR (vehicle registration) indicates a 400cc displacement kahit lower like the KTM (390 Duke or RC 390, which both have 373cc engines), we will give RFID (stickers). Because we will follow the class set by the LTO (Land Transportation Office)," the MPTC official explained.

So what traffic violation awaits the owners of these small bikes that entered the tollways? They call it "DTS" or "disregarding traffic signs" on an unauthorized motor vehicle or under capacity motorcycles.

Let's just hope that this arrangement works out well the second time around.
