This Minimalist Box Is Actually a Ramen Kit

(SPOT.ph) We know nothing beats a hot bowl of ramen served fresh from the kitchen but hey, the slew of take-home kits available also presents an alternative way to enjoy the noodles. Check out Mendokoro Ramenba and Ramen Yushoken's redesigned Ramen Kits, which could easily pass for your usual gift box—the kind that your foodie friend should open way before Christmas.

The box, which looks like wood at first glance, contains individually sealed packs for each ramen ingredient; from their signature broth, the noodles, the chashu, down to the condiments—plus the instructions on how to assemble a bowl yourself. You can get their five ramen bowls as take-home kits either for delivery or pick-up; choose among Shio (P400), Shoyu (P430), Super Chashu (P560), TanTanMen (P450), and Ebi Tonkotsu (P590).

You can place orders for their redesigned Ramen Kits via their order form. The kits will be available in Cebu on December 15 and can be picked up from the Ramen Yushoken branch located in Mandaue City, Cebu.

Ramen Yushoken noted on their Facebook page that presentation is "as important as the taste of our products. This box contains not just any product, but the best bowl of ramen anyone can wish to have." And with the amped up packaging of separate ingredients, we can imagine this is sure to up the quality by a lot. "This is our way of showing our respect to the craft and care that goes into every bowl," they wrote.

This is how their ramen kits used to look.

Yushoken is a ramen joint in Alabang that opened in 2012, and fast became known for their ramen with house-made noodles and rich broth. In 2014, Mendokoro Ramenba opened their doors as a ramen-focused Makati joint. Both restaurants have consistently made it to many best-ramen lists—Ramen Yushoken is at the top of our Top 10 Shoyu Ramen in Manila list for 2019, while Mendokoro got the top spot in our 2017 list of the Top 10 Miso Ramen in Manila. They first released ramen kits in March, early into the quarantine period.
